BIT 15 – October 21, 2007
Well, now I’m in Omaha, Nebraska! But, let me start from where I left off in my last BIT. While in Indianapolis, I met with the recording engineer/studio owner that I mentioned and it looks like I’ll be doing my recording at his studio during the latter part of November!
I checked out his studio and it is up to the task, but more importantly Dave has the right kind of work ethic and experience to back it up! Plus he is a guy that absolutely loves the Lord. It’ll be such a blessing to work with him on this next project.
From Indy, dad and I went up to Fort Wayne, Indiana. While there, I played for two groups of students during chapel, at Blackhawk Christian Elementary School. The students were really a joy to play for, and I had a Q&A session after which went really well.
Than we went up into the thumb area of Michigan, where we met up with my mom! She was with some good friends of ours in Sebewaing, Michigan. So, we were able to visit with them and while we were in the area, I was invited to play at a church in Bad Axe, Michigan. In fact on Dec. 6th, I’ll also be playing a concert at a Christian campground in Sebewaing called Bay Shore Camp.
From there we went down and spent the day in Frankenmuth, Michigan… what a beautiful town! It’s such an amazing Bavarian style village, full of flowers, cheese, sausage and some of the best fudge!
The next day we went over to Battle Creek, Michigan and went to visit the folks at GHS Strings. It was so nice to meet the people ‘behind’ the strings that I use. They gave us on a tour of the factory and warehouse, and they answered all of my questions.
It was really amazing to see first hand the skill and expertise they have developed in order to consistently deliver such a high quality product… right down to the inspection and evaluation of each individual string! I’m sure looking forward to stopping back in there in December.
So, from there we headed to Omaha, to be with some friends. Taking a break from driving is nice and being with old friends makes it even better. So, from here we go farther west… ‘California here I come’! Anyway, I’ll catch you later with more as I am able.
Take care,
–Buddy
